Dream On Me Cribs Reviews Article Checks 11 Most Popular Models

Last Updated on February 27, 2021

It was not easy to write this Dream on Me cribs reviews article because the New Jersey-based company has made nursery furniture since 1988. They offer an extensive selection of full-sized (or standard) cribs, mini cribs, and portable cribs. All in all, there are over forty crib models available. Working dads don’t have time to go through all of them so I wanted to make your life easier. I have reviewed their 11 most popular models so you can find a suitable baby bed more quickly. You can see the reviews by clicking on the table of contents or scrolling down.

Standard Features of all Dream On Me Cribs

Some features are common for all Dream On Me cribs, so I didn’t want to repeat these under every single review.

Dream On Me Cribs Meet the Safety Standards

In the U.S, all full-sized cribs and mini cribs must meet the standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This ensures that the construction of baby beds is safe for your little one. All Dream On Me products meet or exceed these rules

Weight Capacity is Excellent for Dream On Me Cribs

All standard cribs and most mini cribs in this article have a weight limit of 50lb. The only exception is the folding mini crib that is recommended for kids under 35 inches (but the weight limit isn’t specified).

Full-Sized Crib Mattresses are Sold Separately

Standard cribs don’t usually come with a mattress, and Dream On Me cribs aren’t an exception. Luckily, finding an excellent safe standard crib mattress isn’t hard.

Mini cribs, on the other hand, have to come with a pad. This is required by law. So you don’t have to worry about a mattress for the first couple of weeks. Most parents buy a more comfortable alternative quite quickly though.

Dream On Me Cribs Don’t Come With a Toddler Rail nor a Conversion kit

You need to buy conversion kits for all Dream On Me convertible baby beds in this article. I’ve mentioned this under each review because many parents will probably skip this part, and the missing toddler rail may come as a surprise.

Dream On Me Full-Size Folding Crib Review

This beautiful crib is a real space saver as you can fold it. It weighs only 46lb and has wheels, so it’s effortless to move around. The standard folding crib is a perfect baby bed for a small nursery. It’s also excellent for grandparents’ house as it takes up very little room when not in use. It’s worth noting that the manufacturer calls it a full-sized crib because a standard 28″ x 52″ crib mattress fits perfectly in it. That said, I assume that it’s actually a non-full-sized crib because of the folding mechanism. This means that it must not meet all the requirements of standard cribs. It doesn’t make any real difference to parents as it still meets all necessary safety standards, but can be confusing for true purists 🙂

PROS

  • Thanks to the folding mechanism you get a big crib that’s easy to store when not in use
  • It’s one of the few folding cribs that you can buy a standards crib mattress for
  • This crib has two adjustable mattress positions, which is excellent for a folding crib. That said, many standard cribs have three to four heights available
  • You can choose between many (seven, at the moment of writing) different colors

CONS

  • It’s not effortless to assemble

Dream On Me Carson Classic 3 in 1 Crib Review

Dream On Me Classic crib is a beautiful regular-size, convertible crib. When your little one is old enough, you can turn it into a toddler bed or even a day bed. This means that the crib grows with your child, and your toddler doesn’t have to get used to a new bed. You can adjust the mattress to three different heights. This all said, Dream On Me offers many crib models that you can also turn into a full-size bed (conversion kits are sold separately).

PROS

  • This crib comes with locking wheels, so it’s effortless to move around. Additionally, it weighs only 36lb
  • You can choose between many (six, at the moment of writing) different colors

CONS

  • You have to buy the toddler rail which isn’t very cheap

Dream On Me Violet 7 in 1 Convertible Crib Review

Dream On Me Violet crib has a beautiful flowing design, which makes it perfect for a modern nursery. When it comes to Dream On Me cribs, the higher number in the name means more possibilities. You can convert many cribs to toddler beds or daybeds, but this one also turns into a full-size bed. That said, there doesn’t seem to be any logic in the name 7 in 1. The Ashton crib (reviewed next) also grows with your kid, but it’s called a 5 in 1. I assume that if you’d sleep next to it on the floor, you could call the Violet crib an 8 in 1? All joking aside, this is an excellent wooden standard crib that your kid can use for a long time.

PROS

  • You can turn it into a full-size bed. This said you need to buy the conversion kits (including a toddler side rail) separately. If you don’t want to purchase any extras, you can use it as a crib or a daybed
  • It’s possible to adjust the mattress to four different heights. Most cribs allow only three positions
  • You can choose between many (five, at the moment of writing) different colors

CONS

  • The toddler rail is relatively expensive. Additionally, if you want to turn it into a full-sized bed, it may be hard to actually find the conversion kit (it’s not always available)

Dream On Me Ashton 5 in 1 Convertible Crib Review

Ashton 5 in 1 convertible crib is made of pinewood and has two versions. You can pick the one with a full panel or without. The first option probably looks more beautiful if you intend to convert it into a big kid bed. You can turn it into a toddler bed, daybed or (as mentioned) a full-size bed. So this crib grows with your kid, and he or she doesn’t have to get used to a new bed every two years.

PROS

  • Ashton 5 in 1 is another baby bed example that grows with your child
  • Four different adjustable mattress positions help to make your life easier
  • You can choose between many (six, at the moment of writing) different colors

CONS

  • The toddler rail and the conversion kit to turn it into a big kid bed are not included

Dream On Me Chelsea 5 In 1 Convertible Crib Review

Chelsea convertible crib is another excellent baby bed in this Dream On Me baby bed reviews article. Chelsea 5 in 1 grows with your kid. It has four different mattress positions, and you can turn it into a toddler bed, daybed, or a full-sized bed. The most noticeable difference compared to the Violet 7 in 1 crib is the altered design of the end frames. So it comes down to your personal taste.

PROS

  • You can turn this convertible crib into a big kid bed with a conversion kit. That said, the equipment is sold separately
  • Chelsea 5 in 1 also (similarly to Violet and Ashton cribs) has four different mattress positions
  • You can choose between many (six, at the moment of writing) different colors

CONS

  • As with all the Dream On Me convertible cribs, you have to buy the conversion kits (including the toddler rail) separately. And it’s not always easy to find suitable equipment to turn it into a full-sized bed

Dream On Me Brody Crib With Changer Review

Brody crib is a beautiful modern crib. The detachable changing table with shelves and drawers is a unique feature of this baby bed. But this crib also grows with your child. You can turn this crib into a toddler bed, daybed, or even a full-sized bed. Three different mattress heights help to make your life easier, but Dream On Me also offers models with four positions.

PROS

  • Brody is another excellent crib in this Dream On Me reviews article that you can convert into a full-size bed
  • The changing station next to your crib will make the first months of your life a lot easier. You can have all the nappies, wipes and extra clothes within hand’s reach
  • At the moment of writing, there are six different finishes available

CONS

  • You can attach the drawer only on the right side, and it functions as an end frame. This means that you can’t detach it when turning this crib into a toddler bed or daybed
  • The changing table is quite small, so you don’t get to use it for a long time. But a thin pad is included in the package
  • If you wish to convert it into a toddler bed or a full-size bed, then you need to buy the conversion kits separately

Dream On Me Cape Cod 5 in 1 Convertible Crib Review

Dream on Me crib has a slender traditional look. The 5 in 1 in the name means that you can turn it into a toddler bed, daybed, or even a full-sized bed. All the features are similar to Violet, Ashton, and Chelsea cribs, so it comes down to your personal taste.

PROS

  • It’s possible to convert it into a big kid bed
  • Four different mattress positions are an excellent feature as you don’t have to lower it too fast
  • At the moment of writing, this model has the largest number of finishes available. You can choose between eight different colors

CONS

  • All conversion kits (including the toddler rail) are sold separately. That said, you can turn it into a daybed without one

CONS

Dream On Me Addison 4 in 1 Mini Crib

Addison 4 in 1 is another excellent baby bed in this article. It has a different design compared to the Violet cod (reviewed previously) but essentially has all the same features. It grows with your child and comes with a thin pad, so you don’t need to worry about a mattress for the first couple of weeks.

PROS

  • The small size of mini cribs means that they are effortless to move around and take up less space than full-sized cribs
  • Dream On Me Addison has three different mattress positions which is very good for a mini crib
  • It’s possible to turn this crib into a daybed or twin bed (you can read about twin beds by clicking here) if you buy a conversion kit

CONS

As the name implies, this baby bed is built to be highly portable. It has wheels, and you can easily fold it flat. As it comes with a thin pad, you don’t need to worry about a mattress for the first couple of weeks. You can adjust the mattress to two different height. That said, most bigger cribs offer three to four different positions. The 2 in 1 portable folding crib has sleek featured, and it comes in many different colors. As a result, it’s suitable for most baby rooms.

PROS

  • It takes up very little room when folded flat. This is an excellent product if you need an extra baby bed for grandparents house or have a small nursery
  • This Drem On Me mini crib is effortless to assemble

CONS

  • It’s quite a tiny crib. You shouldn’t use it after your kid reaches the height of 35 inches

To Sum Up

I hope these 11 Dream On Me cribs reviews make your life easier. The Violet 7 in 1 (also sold on Amazon) is definitely an excellent option if you’re looking for a standard crib. That said, it comes down to personal taste as these top models have very similar features.

The Violet mini crib (also sold on Amazon) is a perfect solution for small homes. It’s small, but you can convert it into a mini daybed or even a twin bed.
